From Crisis to Confidence—for Life!
Sudden injuries from an accident or other mishap can turn your life upside down. Or at least the pain and fear they bring can make you feel that way. But expert specialist care from an experienced, board-certified and fellowship-trained team of orthopedic trauma specialists can make all the difference in restoring both your function and confidence in your body’s capacity for healing to the greatest possible degree.
SRO Orthopaedic Trauma Center
The Trauma Team at SRO features three fellowship-trained specialists. Drs. Thomas Axelrad and Michelle Nentwig see patients for a wide variety of musculoskeletal injuries and related complications, for both acute and chronic conditions.
Presenting problems range from single fractures to multi-limb injuries that may threaten not only a patient’s daily function, but also their very lives. Our Trauma Team often serves as a regional resource for other physicians challenged by these complex orthopedic cases, which call on state-of-the-art techniques that optimize the healing of the musculoskeletal system and minimize damage to nerves and blood vessels and help prevent soft tissue loss.
Common Orthopedic Trauma Problems
In cases involving polytraumatized patients who suffer multiple skeletal and other primary organ system injuries (usually from high-impact traumatic events), our Orthopedic Trauma Team manages the orthopedic portion of the patient’s care in coordination with other subspecialties to help optimize the clinical outcome.
