Being a professional nurse with osteoarthritis, she knew that a hip replacement was invertible. She also was well versed about the latest surgical techniques and benefits of the “anterior approach.” After extensive research, she found Dr. Ehmer was the local expert. In June, Theresa had a total hip replacement to resolve her disabling bone-on-bone pain.

According to Theresa, “The best part is that I was walking immediately after surgery and discharged from the hospital the very next day. After three days, I was walking unassisted and off all pain medications within five days. After just two weeks, I was playing tennis and given permission to dance.”

I’m so grateful to Dr. Ehmer for resolving my hip pain, making it possible to enjoy my retirement, play tennis again (every day) and return to the things I love in life.

While in the ER, she contacted her personal friend, Dr. Gary Stein. Since he doesn’t handle trauma surgeries, he recommended her to his partner, Dr. Ehmer.

In November 2016, she underwent surgery to repair her broken femur wherein four pins were implanted. After 10 days in the hospital, which included rehab, and following Dr. Ehmer’s post-op instructions, by June 2017,

Elizabeth says she was at a “solid 99% recovery!” Elizabeth had also suffered from Stenosis of her L4/L5 prior to her femur fracture, of which she had considered surgery, but never did it. And following the surgery to repair her femur, that back pain has “completely dissipated!”, considers it a “silver lining in disguise”. His staff and the hospital staff at Memorial went above and beyond, Elizabeth felt extremely fortunate.

“Dr. Ehmer “IS THE BEST!” Dr. Ehmer is a “blessing” his bedside manner, graciousness and continuous care, even as Elizabeth and her husband move to Texas to be closer to family, he continues his care and offers his assistance to make sure she finds continued care in Texas. He’s a “walking angel” and “remarkable.”

“My healing couldn’t be more complete – I’m not kidding, there has been absolutely no pain at all.” – Jan Brewer

As many of us know, life can be very unpredictable- Jan Brewer can attest to that. Jan was preparing herself for a regular day out with her dogs when she accidentally fell and hit the concrete, completely breaking a bone in her hip. Jan was immediately rushed to the hospital and taken under the care of Dr. Nathan Ehmer. Only after six weeks, Jan could confidently report, “my healing couldn’t be more complete- I’m not  kidding, there has been absolutely no pain at all. I think he did an outstanding job. With a surgery like this and no pain, the scar will heal up  beautifully, I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.”

Dr. Ehmer was just wonderful and put me at ease right away, he knows exactly what he’s talking about, and made me feel confident that he could help me. His attention to me and what I needed to comfortably and safely recover is far superior to any other healthcare service I have   experienced in the area.

Since then, Jan is back to her daily routine of taking out the dogs and even doing some  yard work like mowing the lawn earlier than expected during her recovery. Jan has learned what thousands of other patients have discovered over the years: Santa Rosa Orthopaedic physicians care and pride themselves on getting you back to the activities you love.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][/vc_column][/vc_row]
