Santa Rosa Orthopaedic’s Dr. Neema Pourtaheri has been selected by his peers as among the best orthopaedic doctors by Sonoma Magazine’s Top Doctors survey for 2018.

Sonoma Magazine’s Top Doctor survey is distributed annually to local doctors who are asked which medical specialist they would most often recommend to someone they care about. More than 300 professionals emerged as top docs in 50 specialties of medicine.  Survey results revealed that SRO’s orthopaedic surgeon Neema Pourtaheri, M.D. is viewed as exemplary in the field of shoulder surgery.

According the most recent statistics about 53,000 people in the U.S. have shoulder replacement surgery each year. This number is on the rise as technology and technique improves and as people experience an improved quality of life resulting in less pain, improved motion, strength, and function.

There are a number of issues that can lead to should pain including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, post-traumatic injury stemming from an accident or fall, to name just a few. About Dr. Pourtaheri

Dr. Neema Pourtaheri is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with subspecialty interest and fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery.

Dr. Pourtaheri completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, before earning a Medical Doctorate in New Orleans, Louisiana, at Tulane University School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, where he was appointed Chief Resident in his final year. Dr. Pourtaheri advanced his orthopaedic expertise with a shoulder and elbow Fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. Throughout his undergraduate studies, residency and fellowship, he published several award–winning works on orthopaedic conditions and treatments.

Dr. Pourtaheri has trained alongside some of the world’s finest orthopaedic surgeons and brings invaluable medical expertise about the latest advancements in shoulder and elbow care. In addition, he practices general orthopaedics including arthroscopy, fracture care, joint replacement, and minimally invasive procedures. He also offers regenerative orthopaedics and performs PRP and stem cell injections. Dr. Pourtaheri is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a member of the Arthroscopic Association of North America (AANA) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
