About Cynthia Syiek
Certified Hand Therapist
A desire to help patients achieve an improved state of health has always been the driving force underlying Cynthia Syiek’s varied career as an occupational therapist and certified hand therapist. Cynthia graduated from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in human services/counseling and went on to earn a master’s degree in occupational therapy from the University of Southern California. She has worked as an occupational therapist since 1982 and became credentialed as a hand therapist in 2006.
Cynthia joined SRO in 2017 from St. Joseph’s Health Care/Memorial Hospital Outpatient Clinic in Sebastopol, where she also served as an occupational/hand therapist. Her expertise includes treating and diagnosing complex orthopedic and neurological hand/wrist and elbow injuries. She is also skilled at fabricating custom static and dynamic orthotics.
When not pursuing her career, Cynthia can be found outdoors, where she pursues kayaking, hiking, biking, playing pickleball and gardening. She also enjoys her role as the drummer for a rock band.
